Anna Butcher

Counselling Psychologist
HCPC Registered / British Psychological Society (BPS)

Dr Anna Butcher CPsychol is an HCPC registered and BPS chartered Counselling Psychologist joining the Orchard Clinic this month. She is an experienced practitioner psychologist who has worked in private practice for over ten years. She practices from a psychodynamic perspective which means that she is interested in helping people to be curious about themselves, to understand why they might think, feel or behave in certain ways which are often unconscious, and to understand where these patterns might come from. Anna works with a broad range of psychological difficulties including identity, work, relationship and psychosomatic/body issues, loss, feelings of anxiety, depression, envy, jealousy, anger and life changes and transitions.

Anna has a strong interest in pregnancy and parenthood, and the impact this can have on an individual, couple and family. She has undertaken accredited training with NEST in Postnatal Care meaning that she is able to work with new mothers and fathers and their newborn babies, and with her psychology training, this means she can also help with any difficult feelings or experiences that may have arisen postnatally.

Anna is an experienced senior lecturer, trainer and supervisor in Counselling Psychology and is available for teaching/training purposes as well as clinical and research supervision. She is very excited to join the clinic and its team of practitioners and looks forward to meeting everyone!
